Happiness.?

Let me just put this out there
if you are ever considering taking more than 18 credits
BE ABSOLUTELY SURE that your end goal is
TOTALLY and COMPLETELY
worth it!!!
Because if it isn't
you are gonna want to rip out every hair on your head.
Who am I kidding!?
My goal is totally worth it and I already have a bald spot!

Okay,
all kidding aside
I would not ever ReCoMmEnd
you
or anyone else
to take 23 credits.
It's death
and playing a sport on top of that
=
double death

BUT
I will tell you this
YOU CAN DO IT!

While beginning this whole process I had person
after person, after person
tell me that I was crazy
that I would fail
and that It was impossible.

And I'm telling you
they were ALL WRONG.

When you want something so badly
and you have the Lord on your side
you WILL NOT Fail.
I have learned this in a very real and personal way
over these last few weeks
and I am telling
YOU

He will strengthen you
He will guide you
and he will carry you when you can no longer stand

When doubt and fear and worry start to creep in
He will wipe it ALL away.

And when you think he has no time for your simple little worries
He will make you a believer once again!

God wants us to be Happy
YES you saw right!
God WANT US to Be HAPPY!
Now,
this does not mean our road to Happiness will be easy
or that we will always know which way to go without a doubt.....
But he knows each of us
our wants
our desires
and our needs
and he will fill our lives with these things
and SO much more!

So
what makes You happy?
Are you moving towards or away from that happiness?
and when you are trying to get there
are you Happy?
Just something to think about :)
more about my happiness to come

Mother Dear, I LOVE you SO!

So... I really LOVE the one like this that says

Keep Calm
and
Carry on.

But sometimes
(actually more often than not)
I
Freak out
and
call my Mom
It's just my go to
keeping calm is not really in my nature
BUT
it is something I work at on a daily basis :)
and I'm getting better
due to the help and extreme patience of my wonderful Mother.
I honestly do not know what I ever did
to deserve such an amazing Mother
I'm thinking Heavenly Father knew how needy I would be here on earth
and he decided he had better send me to someone beyond wonderful
in order for me to have even the slightest chance at success.
In any case no matter how it all came about,
I am ever grateful for his wisdom....

There are no words to fully describe my mother
from the time I was a little girl
my favorite part of the week was getting to go to the grocery store
with my Mom
and since then the joy in our outings together has never faded
I can tell my her
EVERYTHING
but usually I don't even have to
because she already knows.
But even though she knows all
as Mothers always do
She still listens with open ears, and a heart of gold
she lets me vent, and complain
wine, cry, and laugh
then cry a little more.
Mind you she has 11 other Fotu's
plus my Dad which equals 3
and a grandbaby to worry about
yet she still finds a large amount of time for her homesick 21 yr. old

This last week the homesick bug hit hard
it was late on a Friday night
and I couldn't sleep
I had already talked to my Mom earlier in the day
and didn't want to bother her again with my pitiful homesickness...
But there I sat on my bed
a thousand miles away from home
probably on facebook or something of the sort
when my phone rang
and of course it was
My Mother
words cannot describe the joy that filled me
we talked for over an hour
about nothing really
just to pass the time
but every second of it meant all the world to me....

How grateful I am for a Mother who cares
a Mother who knows
a Mother who is selfless
and a Mother like mine.

I only hope that someday I can become JUST LIKE HER.

I Love you Mom

Always and Forever

Haaaappy Burrrrrfday :)

Wishing this pretty lady a VERY happy birthday!

Yesterday she turned 23
and out of all the children in heaven I was given
the sweet blessing of sharing 21 and a half of those years with her.

Words cannot even begin to explain how much she means to me....
and as I think about our time together
my eyes fill with tears of gratitude for every moment we've shared.

I will admit many of those moments were spent
fighting, arguing, teasing or crying,
of course I was always the one crying
because either she had hit harder than I possibly could
or I was crying to get her in trouble

And I almost always got my way,
and usually still do to this day............
(and she will laugh when she sees this because I have always denied that)
I liked to think it was because I am the favorite child ;)
but to be quite honest
It's because she has ALWAYS been the bigger person
from the very beginning....

I learned to walk
by holding on to the back of her toy car as she drove it around our living room

I gained my first love of sports
by following her onto the volleyball court

I was taught how to dress by her flare for fashion

I was given the chance to see her overcome trials
and truly succeed

I learned from her tears of heartache and boys

I gained a hope for my future
as I saw her marry the many of her dreams for eternity

I saw true love as she carried her first child
and gave birth to that beautiful baby girl

Although she says she had to hold my hand until I was 20
I beg to differ
She never held my hand,
she held my heart.

All I ever wanted was to be just like her
walk like her, talk like her, and of course look like her.
She was my idol and to this day
I only hope that someday I can become like her

Her example and love are something I learn from everyday
Just like my mother, she is never quick to judge
she takes the time to truly understand those around her
and her heart of gold never ceases to amaze me.

I've watched her all along her journey
her ups and downs
her highs and lows
She's come so far is so few years
sometimes I can't believe my eyes.
Daughter.
Sister.
Wife.
and mother
Mother.

I only hope that someday I may amount to half her goodness.

I love you Jax
with all my heart!
Thank you for being the sister I always needed
Happy Happy Birthday
with many more to come :)

Love.

Sunday
was
LOVELY
it rained lots more
just in time for my drive to church
through the countryside.
One of the things I miss the most right now
is the sight of seasons changing!
There is just something simply heavenly about
this...

but today I saw just a glimpse of color in that Oklahoma Countryside
and it made me smile from the inside out :)
But you know what else made me smile today???

THIS

The thought of not having General Conference again for
SIX MONTHS
makes me so anxious.
So,
I decided to fully embrace these wonderful words as much as I possibly can
and this was one of my favorites.
Mostly because it reminded me of my own dear father
a man who I can hardly describe in words....
but to me
this quote sums up my father.

"The most important thing a Father can do for his Daughter,
is to LOVE
her Mother."

and I will forever be grateful to him for that

Love
is more than just a word.

Love is something so much more.

Love is painting a pregnant mothers toenails,
because she cannot reach them on her own.

Love is kissing owies better,
when band aids simply will not do.

Love is a father who always knows just what to say.

Love is baked in every home cooked and treat.

Love is hidden in a tear.

Love is smiling when we're sad
so that those around us won't feel bad.

Love is asking for forgiveness

Love is learning how to give

Love is sent through ink and paper

Love is given in a smile :)

Love is knowing that no matter where you are
there is someone praying just for you!

Love is something we think about everyday

Love can change a persons life

Love is sometimes expected more than given

Love is braiding a roommates hair

Love is keeping sisters secrets

Love is EVERYTHING to me :)

Hope you've found some in your day!

xoxo

Rain. Sweat. and Tears.

It rained today,
POURED,
buckets and buckets.

Made me miss home
Made me wanna snuggle up and drink hot cocoa
with french bread of course
Just like my Dad always does.

But instead I went for a run
I ran and ran and ran
til my shoes were full of water
and my eyes were filled with tears.

Some days are harder than others
some trials are steeper still
some people are patient and cheerful
while others simply break in the face of fear.

Life isn't meant to be simple
nor is it just easy breezy

But the moments when God sends you his love
through something as simple as rain
makes you realize that
He cares
and he cries sometimes too.

He feels your heartaches
knows your worries and wonders.

The things that matter to YOU
matter to HIM!

Keep Dreaming. Keep Smiling. Keep trying.
I'll be right there with ya :)

Smiles :)

Today
was

ENCOURAGING.

Encouraging because great things happened.
Encouraging because I still have
MUCH to improve in.
Encouraging because I am blessed beyond measure
with words of truth.
Truth that came to me all through the weekend as I listened
to the words of wonderful prophets

HERE:

Listen to one
just ONE.
I dare you ;)

I'll share more about my FAVORITES from Conference later.
There are OH so many!

Tonight so many things are zipping through this head of mine.....

Elder Fotu leaves for Seattle in the morning
and he gets to call home!
Oh how I would give anything to be there when that phone rings
to hear his voice and laugh.
I miss him.
But I'm SO very excited for him at the same time.

I have a golf tournament in the morning,
and I should probably be sleeping
but blogging will suffice

I wish I were in Seattle,
because my future BYU golf team is there right now.
and MAYBE for other reasons too ;)
but I guess God knows all!

Midterms are about here...
which MEANS
I'M HALF WAY there :)
and also means
23 credits worth of midterms is bound to require
LOTS of ice cream
and probably diet coke
with lime of course!

All these things and SO much more
cross my mind
continually.
All through out the day I get anxious over
SO MANY THINGS!
But
every day I am able to find strength in the little things
and every day I'm able to take one step at a time.
This strength is not that of my own
it's most certainly
from above
and how truly grateful I am for every ounce of it.

If you need some today,
I hope you will get on your knees as ask for it!
A loving father is waiting
and when you call
he will answer.

His encouragement has blessed me today
and I know he will do the same for you

xoxo
